covers an HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) screening once per year if you meet one of these conditions:
- You’re age 15-65.
- You’re younger than 15 or older than 65 and are at an increased risk for HIV.
If you’re pregnant, you can get the screening up to 3 times during your pregnancy.
You pay nothing for the test if your doctor or other qualified health care provider accepts
Your doctor or other health care provider may recommend you get services more often than Medicare covers. Or, they may recommend services that Medicare doesn’t cover. If this happens, you may have to pay some or all of the costs. Ask questions so you understand why your doctor is recommending certain services and whether Medicare will pay for them.
