Avoid the Part D penalty

If you go 63 days or more without creditable drug coverage (coverage that’s similar in value to Part D), you might have to pay a penalty.

Decide if you want to buy Medigap

If you chose Original Medicare , you may also want to buy a Medigap policy to help pay your share of costs. You have 6 months after your Part B coverage starts to buy any Medigap policy sold in your state, even if you have health problems.
