Contacts for Home Health providers
The accuracy of the Home Health Compare website is based on the information home health providers submit to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). You can help ensure your data are correct by following these guidelines:
- Demographic data: Regularly check your demographic data (agency name, address, phone number, ownership type) using the Provider Preview Reports accessible via the Certification and Survey Provider Enhanced Reports (CASPER) application in the Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (QIES) system.
- If information on your Provider Preview Reports or Home Health Compare needs to be updated, contact your Medicare Administrative Contractor - Opens in a new window for assistance.
- For specific guidance on updating information, see "How to Update Home Health Demographic Data" on the Home Health Quality Initiatives page. - Opens in a new window
- Please note updates to home health provider demographic information can take up to 6-months to appear on Home Health Compare.
About service areas and ZIP codes
"Service area" is defined as: 1) the ZIP code associated with the physical address of the home health agency; 2) any ZIP code where the agency has provided patient care for at least one complete quality episode (from start or resumption of care to transfer, discharge or death) that ended in the current data collection period. A home health agency will appear when a search is conducted for any ZIP code in the service area.
NOTE: In order to continue to meet Medicare enrollment requirements, all Medicare providers and suppliers are required to report changes to information submitted in their enrollment application as outlined in the Provider-Supplier Enrollment Fact Sheet Series - Opens in a new window.
