Here are
some resources to assist you if you have a concern regarding care you received
while on Medicare:
Quality Improvement Organization
A Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) consists of groups of doctors and
healthcare experts to check on and improve the care given to people with
Medicare. QIOs work under the direction of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services. There are 53 QIOs responsible for each U.S. state, territory, and the
District of Columbia.

How to File a Complaint
Medicare has health and safety standards to protect you. You can file a
complaint against a Medicare or Medicaid provider (including hospitals, home
health agencies, hospices, or nursing homes) for improper care or treatment.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the State Medicaid Agency, and the
State Survey Agency (usually part of your state’s health department) work
together to make sure providers meet Federal standards.
