For the purpose of the drug card program, a long-term care pharmacy is a pharmacy that is under contract to provide prescription drugs to residents of a skilled nursing facility and/or nursing homes. Generally, the long-term care pharmacy is the only provider of prescription drugs to the residents of the skilled nursing facility or nursing home.
